Star Movies Movie Marathon Year 2
Can you sit still in a movie house for 17 hours? No standing, no sleeping, no stretching, no talking, no texting, and no peeing? My brother can, and 27 other people! Last January 26, Star Movies held a movie marathon contest for 100 people at the Newport Cinemas in Resorts World Manila, with a prize of Php100,000 for the last man standing, err, sitting. One can join the contest by watching Star Movies and waiting for the popcorn logo to appear, which you will then have to email the date, time, movie where the popcorn logo appeared. All contestants got Greenwich gift certificates, Close Up toothpastes, a calendar, and a Star Movies jacket, which everyone was supposed to wear. Movie lineup was Schindler’s List, Jaws 2, Paranormal Activity 2, Jaws 3, Jaws the Revenge, Grease, Bridget Jones’ Diary, and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
Goldilocks’ Mousse Mishap
A friend dropped by at our house to visit us and brought a Chocolate Mousse from Goldilocks. After dinner, we happily opened the box and sliced the yummy cake. My brother had the first slice and put one large piece in his mouth. That was when he tasted something different. At first he thought it was the cake itself, but, after tasting all parts of the cake, he realized it was the icing. It tasted of mold! We immediately returned the cake in its box and promptly went to the Goldilocks branch where our friend, who was very embarrassed at the moment, bought it. We told him it was not his fault and that it was OK.

Mt. Pinatubo was a previously dormant volcano when it blew its top last June 1991 and the devastation was catastrophic. But several years after the devastation, what remains of the mountain is a wide crater that has been a favorite activity and destination to both local and foreign tourists. See the view of the caldera from the top teeming with flora and fauna, take a dip in its crater lake or indulge yourself in a recently opened spa offering spa services and unique treatments from the mineral rich surroundings such as a volcanic mud pack, hot springs and a treatment using hot volcanic ash.
